1. Copyright

The artworks shown on this website, and the photographs of them, are the original creative work of Veepanchy Kalgaonkar (the “Artist”). Copyright in them belongs to the Artist and is protected under the Copyright Act, 1957 of India and by international copyright conventions to which India is a party.

The Artist also holds moral rights in her work under Section 57 of the Act, including the right to be identified as its author and to object to distortion or modification that would harm her honour or reputation.

2. Using this website

You may view the site, and you may share a link to any page. Without the Artist’s prior written permission you may not:

• copy, download, print, publish, broadcast or post any artwork or image, in whole or in part, including on social media, websites, merchandise or in advertising;
• sell, license, adapt, trace, or make derivative works from any artwork or image;
• use the site’s content to train, test or improve machine-learning or AI systems, or collect it by automated means (scraping);
• remove or alter any credit, signature or copyright notice.

To ask for permission, write to hues.palette26@gmail.com, stating the work, the intended use and the duration.

3. Enquiring about and buying an artwork

• This website is a gallery. It does not take payment. An enquiry starts a conversation by email, and the price, payment and delivery are agreed directly with the Artist.
• Prices are shown as “Price on request” unless a figure is given. Any price is the Artist’s asking price and may change until a sale is confirmed in writing.
• Availability can change. A work shown as available may already have been sold; the Artist will confirm before any sale is agreed.
• A framed painting is sold as photographed, with its frame, unless agreed otherwise.
• Photographs are a guide only. Actual size, colour and texture may vary slightly from what you see on screen.
• Buying an artwork transfers the physical object only. It does not transfer copyright or the right to reproduce the work. Under Sections 18 and 19 of the Copyright Act, 1957, copyright passes only by a written assignment signed by the Artist.
• Commissioned and made-to-order works are created individually; timelines and terms are agreed in writing before work begins.

4. Works inspired by other paintings

Some pieces are studies or interpretations inspired by earlier paintings, and are described that way on their pages. Each is a hand-painted work made by the Artist in her own colours and technique. This site claims no rights in the original compositions that inspired them, which remain the property of their respective creators or rights holders.

5. Name and logo

“Hues and Palette” and its logo identify the Artist’s work. Please do not use them in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without written permission.

6. Your messages and privacy

• If you write to the Artist or use the contact form, we receive the details you choose to share (such as your name, email address, an optional phone number and your message). They are used only to reply to you and to deal with your enquiry or sale.
• We do not sell your details, and we do not share them except where needed to complete a sale or where the law requires it.
• This site does not run advertising trackers. The page typeface is loaded from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address when you visit.
• We handle personal data in line with applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. You may ask us to correct or delete the details you have sent by writing to hues.palette26@gmail.com.

7. Accuracy and links

We take care to keep this site accurate, but descriptions, sizes and availability are provided in good faith and may contain errors. Links to other sites (for example Instagram or your email provider) are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content or practices.

8. Infringement

Unauthorised use of the Artist’s work may be an offence and a civil wrong under the Copyright Act, 1957, and may result in legal action, including injunctions, damages and criminal prosecution. If you believe your own rights have been affected by anything on this site, please write to us and we will respond promptly.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from the use of this website or from an enquiry made through it is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka.
